Hurricane Earl is now 85 miles ESE of Cape Hatteras, and has turned towards the north-northeast moving at approximately 18 mph, and is scheduled to make a further north-easterly turn at approximately 6:00 am on Friday Morning, when it will approximately parallel to the N. Carolina/Virginia border. The storm continues to decrease in intensity with maximum sustained winds of 75 mph, and should continue to lose intensity as it travels up the coast. ... |

Perryville Town Commissioner Alan Fox is worried about the town in which he grew up.
"When I was a kid, Perryville had two hardware stores, an ice cream store, a photography studio, a town newspaper and a bank. It was a vital downtown," Fox said during the work session last week.
Fox wants to assemble a downtown revitalization committee comprised primarily of residents, but also including the business community and others who want to help. ... |
