1608 Captain John Smith explored the Chesapeake Bay including the Susquehanna River.
1622

Edward Palmer receives a patent of land which is now known as Garrett Island

1632

George Calvert is granted "Mary's Land", but his son, Cecilius, would receive the grant.

1634

The Calverts arrive in Maryland on the "Ark" and the "Dove".

1637

"Plantation" is built on Palmer's Island and becomes the first settlement in Cecil County

1643

Fort Conquest is established on Palmer's Island.

1666

The "Queen's Highway'' or Old Post Road is established.

1674 Cecil County founded named in honor of Cecilius Calvert
1695

Ferry boats were known to cross the Susquehanna at "Lower Ferry".

1740

Circa, Stevenson's Tavern is built.

1778 Col. Zebulon Hollingsworth procured boats at Perryville to ferry a large detachment of troops over the Susquehanna, after they marched to Perryville.
1780 John and Elizabeth Rodgers purchase Stevenson's Tavern
1788

Maryland becomes the seventh state.

1795 George Gale purchased 100-acres of land on the east side of the Susquehanna near Watson’s (Garrett) Island and laid out a town called Chesapeake, a short distance above Perryville, which was incorporated by the General Assembly 24 December 1795.
1813 The British set fire to Havre de Grace but spared Perryville. Instead they attacked nearby Principio Furnace, a primary cannon manufacturer in the United States, where Admiral Cockburn’s forces torched the buildings and destroyed all finished weapons they found.
1837

The first steam ferry, "Susquehanna" was put in service on the Susquehanna River.

1838

The Presbyterians conducted the first church service at Rodgers Tavern

1845 In August of this year St. Mark’s Chapel near Perryville was built on land donated by the Misses Gale, consecrated and in 1846 Rev. Richard Whittingham Jr. was chosen by the rector as deacon and assistant minister threre.
1861 Under orders of General George B. McClellan the old Stump plantation was overtaken by Federal forces and used as a Civil War Mule school to train mules for pulling wagons and teamsters for working with the animals. This property is now known as Perry Point.
1866

The first railroad bridge to cross the Susquehanna is built by the Philadelphia, Wilmington, and Baltimore Railroad Company.

1866

Perryville Methodist Episcopal Church is founded.

1875

Harvesting of ice begins on the Susquehanna River.

1880

Circa, the present Presbyterian church is built.

1881

William Armstrong opens the foundry of Armstrong & Co. in Perryville.

1882

Perryville becomes an incorporated Town.

1883 The Eureka Fertilizer Company is founded.
1886

The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Bridge is completed across the Susquehanna.

1900

Circa, A. H. Owens and Brother open a canning factory.

1905

The Presbyterian Church is re-located to 710 Broad Street.

1905

The Perryville Train Station is built.

1906

The Pennsylvania Railroad constructs a new bridge over the Susquehanna River.

1906 Fire destroys four ice houses and damages several more.
1910 New double track railway bridge is completed across the Susquehanna River by the Baltimore and Ohio line.
1923 State of Maryland purchases old "Double Deck" bridge across the Susquehanna River.
1924

Armstrong Stove & Manufacturing Co., Inc., installs electricity in foundry.

1936 24 employees of Perry Point VA Medical Center signed a charter to form a credit union which became Perry Point Federal Credit Union.
1940 The Susquehanna toll bridge opens.
1946 Miss Frances Jackson, of Perryville, a charter member of the now Perry Point VA Medical Center, returned home from a tour of duty in the WACS.
1963 President John F. Kennedy cut the ribbon I-95 in Cecil County, 8 days prior to his assassination in Texas.
1991 Passenger train service restored in Cecil County after the Perryville MARC train station, built in 1905, was restored and reopened.
1993 Current Perry Point Federal Credit Union  building constructed and opened.
1997 Domonick Joseph Cifaldo was honored for 50 year membership in the Perryville Lions Club, and the Good Shepherd School in Perryville named their school hall, Cifaldo Hall in his honor, whilst then Governor William Donald Schaefer sent a notification proclaiming Cifaldo one of “Maryland’s Most Valuable Citizens.” On June 28 of that year the Maryland Municipal League honored Mr. Cifaldo for his 24 years of service as a Perryville Town Commissioner by inducting him into their Hall of Fame, the first person to achieve this distinction.
1999 The Town of Perryville honored Domonick J. Cifaldo by dedicating the Domonick J. Cifaldo Community Center at 418 Elm Street in his honor.
